To pink or not to pink...

I may be treading on thin ice with today being Pink Saturday and all, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't think pink is the beat all to end all color when it comes to interiors. Having said that, I will admit that I have a fair amount thrown in here and there in collections, paintings, and accessories because I am a girlie girl after all.

However, even I must admit that when I saw these two rooms that used pink liberally, albeit as an accent, I could see myself living in a pink room. I think the shades of pink that were chosen as well as the addition of some "grounding" chocolate brown make these spaces smart and sophisticated, but still very livable and family friendly. I'd probably have to 86 the pink hutch in order to maintain some semblance of marital bliss, but I think the big guy could probably live with everything else. He was the one who found this Pepto Bismol pink ruffled top Fenton vase some years ago at an antique mall and just had to have it, so I know he doesn't hate pink. But he did make ME go to the counter and pay for it! Oops, I think that may have been priveledged information, so could you do me a favor and keep it just between us? Thanks. Anyway, back to the rooms...

I think the fabric on this chair is TO DIE FOR...

This room makes me want to curl up with a good book and just lounge!
So, I guess I'm going to have to reevaluate my views on pink. Hmmmmmmm...while I mull that over, I think I'll pop on over to Bev's blog to check out the other participants in Pink Saturday. Why don't you join me?

Until next time,

  1. I am rather partial to pink myself but my most favourite 'pink' combination is pink and chocolate together, so yes that chair fabric is To Die For!!

  13. These are very beautiful rooms - I love chocolate with pink. Of course one would need a husband who could live with so much pink - mine wouldn't!

Right now I'm into French greys - guess I could even use a little touch of pink here and there!

Hope you've had a happy Pink Saturday.

  16. Last year my clients made a strong move against the color pink...
However, when we did incorporate pink, I always added brown. I believe it makes it much warmer and sophisticated.

  19. Hee hee, have to chuckle, the first thing that went thru my mind when I saw your pictures was, "oh my gosh, I SO WANT that hutch". Love it! I have soft pink walls in my lr & dr, all whites pinks soft greens and roses everywhere! Oddly I do not like brown with pink. Or with anything come to think of it! Any ways.....Happy Belated Pink Saturday and thanks for sharing I really loved the pics!

  20. Very relaxing rooms with pink. I'm afraid my husband wouldn't be crazy about living with a lot of pink. I had a friend back in the late 60's who lived in a house with pink kitchen appliances and a pink bathroom. She joked that her husband called it the princess house. I'm afraid the pink applicances disappeared just like the avacado and harvest gold ones some years later.

  27. The Pink chair...a dream come true! The fabric has a toile feel to it. When I found my pink sofas...it was love at first sight. From the overstuffed back pillows to the dainty flowers and small pin stripe welting.
I agree the living room (picture) is a place I could curl up with a cup of tea and book for a long respite.

    Sweet Wishes,
