More Vintage Wallpaper Added Today

Happy Friday, Blogger Friends!

Now that I am back  blogging again, I figured I needed to add more vintage wallpaper to my vintage wallpaper page.  I meant to do it several months ago, I just hadn't "gotten around to it".  Like so many things in my life...SIGH!  Anyway, I added 4 more beautiful 1940's patterns which are available by the yard (quantities are limited, of course).  You can access these by going to my sidebar to the Wallpaper Boutique.  Enjoy taking a peek and don't forget about my giveaway of Carolyn Westbrook's new book,  The French Inspired Home.  See you back here tomorrow for Pink Saturday!

Until next time,

The Prettiest Pink Roses Vintage Wallpaper EVER!

Happy Pink Saturday everyone!  Do you ever see something and your jaw just drops because it is SO pretty?  Well, that's what I did when I saw this vintage 1940s wallpaper roll.  It is one of the prettiest things I've ever seen.  And I just had to share it with you on Pink Saturday.  And I'm willing to share it with you in a literal way if beautiful old wallpaper is your thing.  You can purchase a yard or more of this rosie beauty right here, right now.

The pertinent information is as follows:  the paper measures 20 1/4 inches wide and is UNPASTED as was all wallpaper from this era.  It is in excellent condition, not at all brittle.  It will arrive rolled up, in uncut lengths based on how many yards you wish to purchase.  The color on the close up picture is the most accurate depiction.

PRICE:  $12/yard which will include shipping to U.S. addresses.  If you are out of the U.S., please email me and I can let you know how much extra first class international postage to your location will be.

When you click on Add to Cart, you will be redirected to Paypal.  At that time, you may indicate the quantity of yards you wish to purchase. Quantity is limited, so don't miss out!

Thank you for indulging the merchant in me.  I might also add that I have begun selling on eBay again after a 4 month hiatus, seller name french*laundry.  Check it out when you have the chance as I have some truly lovely feminine antiques.  Perhaps we can manifest spring by looking at everyone's lovely offerings over at How Sweet the Sound where Beverly is hostessing another fun Pink Saturday.  Stop by and enjoy on this snowy weekend.

Until next time,

Buttons and Brooches and Pins...OH MY!

Okay, I wholeheartedly subscribe to the "Guilt Free Blogging" school of thought since this is supposed to be fun and not terribly serious. However, I never meant to be away for two weeks. I've missed you all. I not only haven't posted, but I haven't been visiting my blogging friends either. I have some SERIOUS catching up to do. So, without further ado, welcome to PINK SATURDAY, hosted by Bev at How Sweet the Sound. Pop over there and check out the other 145 participants' blogs as you have the chance for some fun and not so serious posts.

I have mentioned numerous times that I have LOTS of collections. One I'd like to share with you today, at least in part, is a little collection that brings me lots of smiles. It is a collection of handpainted Victorian buttons, brooches, and pins, MOST of which feature roses, but not all. As it happens, many of them are pink, hence their relevance to Pink Saturday. I am particularly drawn to the heart shaped buttons, they are so sweet. The rectangular brooch is one of my favorites, even though it was purchased with the idea that I would sell it. I'm guessing that's not happening, at least not right now. One of the pitfalls of selling what you love...

I can't imagine having these elegant little pieces of art actually adorning your clothes, but people did that "back in the day". The detail and artistry is phenomenal, in the style of Limoges porcelain painting in France. Some are more elaborate than others, but they are all lovely in my opinion. Enjoy this little peek into one of my indulgences....

Until next time,

Pink Saturday and New Pretties

I thought this little handpainted drawer was just divine with its old green paint, pretty pink handpainted roses, and glass knob. But then as I was setting up my pictures for listing it on Ebay, I thought it would be fun to show it with some of the pretty items I have procured this week after visiting some wonderful online shops which I have actually come across by blogging...who knew? Anyway, many of those items just happen to be PINK, hence the relevance for a PINK SATURDAY post, hosted by Bev at How Sweet the Sound. My creative juices start flowing just looking at this box of pretty ribbons, millinery, and wish tickets from Andrea and gorgeous Paris inspired gift tags from Amy . The beautiful handpainted drawer is available by clicking here. I think I'll organize my creative bits and bobs something like this once my art studio is finished being built. Organization AND beauty = a winning combination, don't you think? Well, I have an antique sale to attend tomorrow, so I simply MUST cut this one short.

Back in the saddle again...

Well, after a much needed break from my Ebay auctions, I FINALLY got all of this week's offerings put on. It seems that I'm always in a crunch to get the photos taken, pictures cropped, descriptions written. I know I should be more organized, but the fact of the matter is, I'm just not. I'd like to think that in 2009, the Organization Fairy will suddenly descend upon my life and fix everything that is, shall we say, not working to its optimal capacity. Sigh...a girl can HOPE can't she? One year, I discovered the Fly Lady, http://www.flylady.net/. It was a true revelation. I did, indeed gain a great bit of organization that year, but then the next "thing" came along that derailed me (I don't even remember what) and I scrapped her bits of sage wisdom and fell back into my old bad habits. Do you all have these problems with being overbooked and underdisciplined and overwhelmed with life? I will qualify this question by saying that I am living the life I love for the most part, its just the details that sometimes make me crazy. Please send me a comment and let me know that I'm not alone out here in Disorganizationville! In the meantime, here's a mosaic of this weeks' offerings. There's an antique French net lace collar, a lovely Victorian painting featuring pretty little violets, a neat silk embroidery embellished vintage sewing kit filled with notions, a really cool shell that is decorated with shell roses, a handpainted serving dish featuring beautiful pink roses and dated 1915, and a handpainted brooch featuring gorgeous pink roses and blue forget me nots, circa 1900. You can reach my auctions by clicking the button on the left sidebar of my blog, should you be moved to do so. Otherwise, just enjoy the photos and have a great day! Click anywhere on the mosaic to see a larger version of the pictures.

Beautiful Eye Candy from 2008

As I sit here trying to figure out how to balance working at my "real" job this weekend, visiting with my long lost godson who is visiting from out of state, and returning to creating new Ebay listings after a 2 week break, I got the urge to share with you some of my favorite Ebay listings from 2008. I enjoyed doing the mosaic for My Romantic Home's End of Year party so much, I decided to create some more. I only sell what I would love to have in my own home, so, while it makes it fun to shop, it does sometimes make it hard to sell. I'm glad to have my photos to refer back to since it does help me to feel like I still have some piece of these beautiful items which have since gone on to different homes. I have a definite "look" that I sell and I find that helpful when shopping because I love LOTS of different antique things. If I didn't limit my purchase choices, I'm afraid I'd have more than I could EVER list! That being said, I should get these tired bones to bed so I can make the most of the time I have this weekend and get some pretties listed for Sunday evening. Okay, after I watch the "Best of" show on HGTV with Candice Olsen-she is SO WONDERFUL. If you haven't caught "Divine Design" on HGTV, check it out at http://www.hgtv.com/divine-design/show/index.html and see when its on in your area. In the meantime, enjoy the photos. BTW, you can click anywhere on the mosaic and it will enlarge the whole thing so you can see the pictures better.
Best wishes for a healthy and happy 2009!
